The Leftover Regatta

Our first regatta, on the Mystic River the day after Thanksgiving. Bring a DF95, bring whatever you have, or bring nothing and borrow one.

Hosted by Mystic Seaport Museum. After party by Dog Watch Mystic.

The day

10:00 am	Check in. Newcomer clinic and demo boats.
11:45 am	Skippers meeting.
12:00 pm	First start. Short races, back to back.
2:45 pm	Last start.
3:00 pm	Prizes. After party from 3:30 pm.

Boats

DF95 is the main fleet. Every other class, and traditional model yachts, race too. No boat? Pick "I need a boat" when you enter.

Bring it and we will pair it with a newcomer for a race or two.

Lifejackets required

Every sailor and every spectator on the dock wears one, all day, any age. A few loaners on the dock, but bring your own if you can.

Rules

Racing Rules of Sailing with Appendix E, 2.4 GHz radios. Low point scoring, one discard for every five races. A class with only one or two boats races in an open fleet. AMYA membership not needed, but encouraged.

Weather

Dress warm, with gloves you can work a transmitter in. Any call goes out on WhatsApp and by email to entrants by 7 am. Cancelled means refunded.

Drive to Mystic SeaportSet your GPS to 105 Greenmanville Ave, Mystic, CT.
Park in the North lotAcross the street from the North Entrance. Full? The South lot at 50 Greenmanville Ave is a short walk.
Walk in the North EntranceFree for sailors and spectators. Beside the Thompson Exhibition Building, then down to the water. Lifejacket on before you step onto the dock.

When the last boat is on the dock, the whole fleet heads up the road to Dog Watch Mystic. Wood smoked BBQ, a cold one, and every race sailed again, louder. Sailors, families and anyone who stood on the dock and cheered.

When: Straight after prizes, from about 3:30 pm
Where: 20 Old Stonington Rd, Mystic. Five minutes from the Seaport.
